OAU Academic Calendar For 2020

This is to notify the general public and students of OAU, that the Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-Ife, as released it annual academic calendar for the year 2020.

The school after a brief negotiation with her staffs came to agreement to kick start the years academic section.

Following the report by the spokes person academic activities has been scheduled to commence on the 6th of February 2020 and come to an end on the 6th of may 2020.

OAU Academic Calendar For 2020 are as follows:

  • 6th january, February 21st, 2020 – SWEP/SIWES & Teaching Practice
  •  29th January, 2020 – Senate for Consideration of Rain Semester 2018/2019 Results
  • 11th February, 2020 – Committee of Deans
  • 14th Fabruary, 2020 – Online Registration for Courses Commences
  • February 17th, 2020 – Business Committee of Senate

Also 22nd February, 2020 – Fresh Students in Faculty of Law/Arts/Social Sciences/Agriculture/Administration and Education come into Residence

  • February 23rd, 2020 – Fresh Students in Faculties of Science/EDM/Basic Medical Science/Clinical Sciences/Dentistry/Pharmacy and Technology come into Residence
  • February 24th to 26th, 2020 – Orientation Programme for Fresh Students
  • 6th February, 2020 – Senate
  • 27th february to 29th, 2020 – ICT Training for Fresh Students
  • March 2nd to 6th, 2020 – Clearance at Faculty and Admission Offices
  • 8th march, 2020 – Returning Undergraduates comes into Residence
  • 9th march, 2020 – Harmattan Lecture commences
  • 11th march, 2020 – Committee of Deans
  • 15th march, 2020 – End of Normal Registration
  • 16th march, 2020 – Business Committee of Senate
  • 25th march , 2020 – Senate
  • 31st march& April 1st, 2020 – MATRICULATION
  • 5th April, 2020 – End of Registration with Penalty
  • 6th April to 9th, 2020 – Faculty/Students Colloquium
  • 15th April, 2020 – Committee of Deans
  • April, 20th 2020 – Continuous Assessment Starts.

The vice chancellor has further said that academic activities are to resume immediately and also encourage all staff to return to the institution.

He also stated candidates who are yet to conclude their registration process should do so.

Lastly he also remindeed the general public that admission into the institution is strictly on merit.

The federal university of Benin UNIBEN has opened an e-learning center mobile app to help facilitate learning activities in this Global pandemic.

It was communicated that the global pandemic which has shut down ever academic institution has lasted for almost two months and has prevented the university community from completing it academic calendar.

Following the report various universities in Nigeria and across the country has commenced an e-learning program to help their students get engaged in This.

Therefore the UNIBEN university community is not been left out from this amazing system of learning.

The university of benin, UNIBEN has publish and online based app (e-learning) that gives you access to so many libraries and each library has millions of ebooks covering different perspective in Education.

Also the institution has fully paid for every activities that will be carried out by it Students, therefore this e-learning is totally free.

How to partake in this UNIBEN E-LEARNING program 

Getting on this E-learning program doesn’t require much effort is simply and straight forwarded. Follow the instructions below to get started.

  • Firstly, you will need to download uniben e-learning mobile app.
  • Download latest version from HERE.
  • Open the installed app.
  • There are series of room which comprises of different e-library, choose from room 1 to 4 according to your choice.
  • Click on the + option above.
  • Click on forum.
  • Finally sign up as a uniben Student and start sharing your opinions with your mates.
  • Enjoy and share with your friends.

It obvious that most people after going through this list might be discouraged, claiming that why will an institution bring down it cut off point to 150?

But the simple reply is that the joint Admission and matriculation board jamb has reduced cut off marks for admission and also asked institution to follow the adjustment.

What are ELDS

ELDS simply means Educational Less Developed states in Nigeria. Most states in Nigeria has little or no tertiary institutions for learning.

As stated above this are states which have little tertiary institutions for learning and because of that many institution in Nigeria do consider them when distributing admission since they have little or institutions.
