The federal university of technology owerri  has released it academic calendar for 2020 academic section.

This came after a brief meeting held by the school academic board.

The school has been scheduled to commence on the 24th of November 2019  and come to an end on the 11th of October 2020.

The vice chancellor further gave an opening remark to new students of the school and also reminded them of the vision,aim amd objectives of the institution and also warned them to desist from an thing that will implicate them but rather embrace the reason while they are here.

Furthermore the said the semester was going to go smoothly.

What are catchment areas in unilorin

Catchment areas is or are the random selection of some states among other states and are been given special benefits which is not untitled to other states.

This is a method of admission been adopted by many institutions in Nigeria for allocation of admission to various states.

Main reason for adopting this system
To ensure that admission is given to the inhabitants of the states.
Educational less developed states(EDS) are mostly considered.
To build good relationship with other states.

Most time candidates who fall under this category are been given lesser admission cut off from the normal cur off point
I.e the school might set up the general cut off of a particular course as 220 and they might be considered of they score 110.

what is utme aggregate?

Utme aggregate is an average score taken from you jamb performance and your schools utme exam(post utme).

  1. It is certain that the joint admission and matriculation board(jamb), totals it utme over four hundred (400) and unizik over hundred.
  2. Now let deal with unizik utme aggregate since it our main area.
  3. Let assume you got 50% in your utme.
  4.  Now multiple it by four
    I.e 50*4= 200
  5. Add up your jamb score and unizik utme score.
  6. Ok let assume you were able to get 250 in jamb
    250+200=450.
  7.  Lastly divide the score gotten by two
    450÷2= 225
